The Sunset & Culture tour combines both — a precisely timed private sunset experience at Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain, followed by a direct transfer to the Roxy, one of Rio's premier Brazilian dinner show venues.

The afternoon begins with Christ the Redeemer during golden hour — the two hours before sunset when the light over Guanabara Bay turns warm and dramatic. Skip-the-line tickets are included, and your pickup time is confirmed based on that day's sunset data to ensure you arrive at the statue when the conditions are at their peak. From Corcovado, your private vehicle takes you to Sugarloaf Mountain, where the cable car ascent is timed to reach the 396-metre summit as the sun completes its descent and the city lights begin to appear below.

The transition from Sugarloaf to the Roxy is direct — your private vehicle handles the transfer with no logistics for you to manage. The Roxy is a fixed venue with a show that begins at a specific time, which is why the timing of the entire afternoon is built backwards from the show's start.

The Roxy Dinner Show is one of Rio's most celebrated cultural experiences — a professional production featuring samba, forró, axé, and Brazilian popular dance performed by trained dancers and musicians in a purpose-built theatre. The show runs for approximately two hours and includes a three-course dinner served at your table. The production quality is consistent with what you would expect from a premium dinner theatre: professional choreography, live music, elaborate costumes, and production values that reflect decades of refinement.

Samba is not background entertainment at the Roxy. It is the centrepiece — the result of a performance tradition that traces directly to the African rhythms brought to Brazil by enslaved people, developed over centuries in Rio's communities, and elevated through the competitive structure of the Rio Carnival. Your guide, during the sunset portion of the day, will provide context for what you are about to see in the evening: the history, the structure, the meaning behind the movements and the music.

Important logistical notes: the Roxy show tickets are non-refundable once purchased, regardless of notice given — please only book if your plans for the evening are confirmed. The show runs Wednesday to Sunday; Mondays and Tuesdays are dark. Dress code is smart casual — the venue is upscale. Drinks at the Roxy are not included in the tour price; budget approximately USD 20–40 per person depending on preferences. Bring identification — the venue may request it at the entrance.
